Delhi Court Summons AAP's Atishi in Defamation Case Filed by BJP, Hearing on June 29
May 28, 2024, 10:52 AM
A Delhi court has summoned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Minister Atishi to appear on June 29 in a defamation case filed by Delhi BJP Media Department Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor. The defamation suit alleges that Atishi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made baseless accusations against the BJP, claiming the party attempted to poach AAP MLAs. The Rouse Avenue Court's Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) admitted the case, finding prima facie sufficient evidence against Atishi. BJP leader and New Delhi constituency candidate Bansuri Swaraj stated that AAP cannot make defamatory statements against the BJP.
