VisitX to Begin Hiding Likes on Posts Starting Today
Jun 12, 2024, 12:43 AM
Elon Musk has confirmed that X, formerly known as Twitter, will begin hiding likes on posts starting today. The new feature, which is already available to X’s Premium subscribers, will make users' likes private by default. Users will still be able to see the posts they have liked, but others will not. Additionally, the like count and other metrics for users' own posts will still show up under notifications. The posts' author can still see who liked their posts. This move aims to protect users' privacy and allow them to like content without fear of public scrutiny or attacks. Musk emphasized that it is important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so. The rollout of this change is expected to be effective immediately.
