Trump's AG Pick Gaetz Paid Women $10,000 for Sex via Venmo with Phony Descriptions, Investigation Shows
Nov 20, 2024, 11:52 PM
Federal investigators have established a trail of payments from former Representative Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald Trump's choice for attorney general, to women who testified that they were hired for sex, according to documents obtained by news outlets and a lawyer representing some of the women. The documents, including a chart created by federal investigators, show thousands of dollars—more than $10,000—in payments made by Gaetz via Venmo and PayPal to women, with phony descriptions. Some of the women claim to have damaging photos of the encounters and say Gaetz was sent nudes. Two women have testified before the House Ethics Committee, stating that Gaetz paid them for sex. The lawyer for these women indicated they do not want to testify publicly but have provided closed-door testimony. The House has received numerous photos related to the allegations. Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing, and while the Justice Department did not charge him, the investigation has brought forth these details.
