Hacker Gains Access to Damaging Testimony on Matt Gaetz, Trump's Attorney General Nominee
Nov 19, 2024, 04:29 PM
An unidentified hacker, reportedly known as Altam Beezley, has gained access to a secure file containing 24 exhibits of damaging testimony related to Matt Gaetz, former Florida congressman and President-elect Donald Trump's choice for attorney general, according to The New York Times. The file includes sworn testimony by a woman who alleges she had a sexual relationship with Gaetz when she was 17 years old. The documents, which pertain to a Department of Justice sex trafficking investigation involving Gaetz, were shared among lawyers whose clients have given testimony against him in connection with a civil lawsuit involving a close friend of the congressman. Gaetz is not a party in the lawsuit. The breach raises concerns about the security of sealed legal documents and could impact Gaetz's nomination.
