George Springer’s Two-Run Homer Propels Blue Jays to Early 2-0 Lead Over White Sox
May 27, 2024, 06:36 PM
George Springer hit a two-run home run, his fourth of the season, giving the Toronto Blue Jays an early 2-0 lead against the Chicago White Sox. Springer’s homer, which traveled 396 feet, came off Nick Nastrini in the second inning, following a walk to Daulton Varsho. This was Springer's first home run since April 24, spanning 22 games and 90 plate appearances. Despite the White Sox getting three singles in the first inning, they were unable to score. Toronto entered the game with a .419 SLG on the first pitch of at-bats, the lowest in MLB.
