ShinyHunters Breach EPAM Systems, Steal Data of 560 Million Ticketmaster Users, Demand $5 Million Ransom

Hackers from the group ShinyHunters have claimed responsibility for breaching EPAM Systems, a third-party contractor, to steal data from Ticketmaster’s Snowflake account. The breach reportedly compromised data of 560 million Ticketmaster users. Additionally, ShinyHunters are alleged to have stolen data from approximately 165 other Snowflake users. The hackers are now extorting Snowflake customers, demanding ransom payments ranging from $300,000 to $5 million. EPAM Systems has denied the claims of the breach. This incident highlights the growing severity of ransomware attacks, as seen in the recent Change Healthcare ransomware catastrophe.
