Qatar Becomes First Arab Country in U.S. Visa Waiver Program
Sep 24, 2024, 07:44 PM
The United States announced on Tuesday that Qatar has been admitted into its Visa Waiver Program, allowing Qatari citizens to travel to the U.S. without a visa for up to 90 days starting no later than December for tourism or business purposes. This makes Qatar the first Arab country and the second Muslim-majority nation, after Israel, to join the program. The decision was made by the U.S. departments of State and Homeland Security, reflecting the close partnership between the two countries. The new arrangement will also allow American citizens to visit Qatar for longer periods of time without a visa.
