23-Year-Old Illegal Immigrant Victor Hernandez Arrested for Rape and Murder of Maryland Mother of Five
Jun 16, 2024, 07:15 PM
Authorities have arrested Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, in connection with the brutal rape and murder of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five from Maryland. Morin was found dead near a hiking trail in August 2023. Martinez-Hernandez, who had previously fled El Salvador after allegedly committing a murder there, crossed the U.S. border illegally in early 2023. He also attacked a 9-year-old girl and her mother during a home invasion. He was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a 10-month investigation by law enforcement. Martinez-Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape. The case has sparked significant political backlash, with critics blaming the Biden administration's border policies for allowing Martinez-Hernandez to enter the country. Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler has been particularly vocal, stating that American citizens are not safe due to failed immigration policies.
