In the early hours of August 17, an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Al-Zawaida in central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 Palestinians, including nine children and three women. The attack reportedly struck a shelter housing displaced families, leading to numerous casualties. The Palestinian Authority-run news agency WAFA confirmed the incident, which also left dozens wounded. The civil defense agency in Gaza highlighted that the airstrike wiped out an entire family from the civil registry.
