Election Commission Reschedules Haryana Polls to October 5, Counting on October 8
Aug 31, 2024, 01:47 PM
The Election Commission of India has revised the polling schedule for the Haryana Assembly elections, moving the voting date from October 1 to October 5, 2024. This change was made to accommodate the Bishnoi community's Asoj Amawasya festival. Consequently, the counting of votes for both Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections has been postponed from October 4 to October 8, 2024. The decision was taken to respect the traditions of the Bishnoi community while ensuring voter participation.
