Harvey Weinstein's September Retrial Set After 2020 Conviction Overturned
May 1, 2024, 07:30 PM
Harvey Weinstein is set to be retried in New York after his 2020 rape conviction was overturned by the state's highest court. The Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced the retrial, which is scheduled for September, following the decision by an appeals court last week. Weinstein made his first court appearance since the overturning of his conviction in Manhattan Criminal Court before Judge Curtis Farber, where the next steps of the legal process were discussed. The retrial is tentatively planned to occur after Labor Day in fall 2024.
