UK Court Rules Craig Wright Lied and Forged Documents in 231-Page Judgment on Satoshi Nakamoto Claim
May 20, 2024, 12:07 PM
The UK High Court has delivered a final judgment in the case of Craig Wright, who claimed to be the inventor of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. Judge James Mellor ruled that Wright lied extensively and repeatedly, forging documents to support his false claims. The judgment, spanning 231 pages, meticulously refutes Wright's assertions and labels his actions as a serious abuse of the court's process. Mellor's ruling highlights that Wright's forgeries were clumsy and easily detected, including Dr Wright’s LATEX documents. The court found no evidence supporting Wright's claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto, and the judgment uses the word 'forgery' 130 times. The case was brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), which stands for truth and justice in the cryptocurrency community. The judgment also discredits the testimony of Stefan Matthews about receiving the Bitcoin White Paper in 2008. There will be a further hearing to determine any additional relief.
