Jets Waive $12M Fines as Haason Reddick Ends Holdout and Agrees to Adjusted Contract
Oct 20, 2024, 12:06 PM
Edge rusher Haason Reddick has ended his holdout and agreed to an adjusted contract with the New York Jets that runs through the end of the season. Reddick will report to the team on Monday morning. The Jets have waived $12 million in fines accrued during his holdout. Both parties will continue to work towards a long-term extension, according to Reddick's agent Drew Rosenhaus, who stated, "We will continue to work towards a long-term extension with the Jets." Owner Woody Johnson was reportedly involved in the negotiations. Reddick is the first player in a decade to hold out past Week One of the regular season and receive an adjusted contract. His holdout was unusual, with multiple instances where he was expected to return but did not.
