Aug 26, 2024, 03:46 AM
The Indian Coast Guard successfully conducted a swift night operation to rescue 11 individuals from the MV ITT Puma, which sank 90 nautical miles south of Sagar Island in the Bay of Bengal. The vessel was en route from Kolkata to Port Blair when it encountered difficulties. The coordinated sea-air search and rescue operation involved the deployment of a Dornier plane and two ships, Sarang and Amogh, from the ICG MRCC Chennai. The plane spotted life rafts, allowing the ships to rescue the crew. The search continues for three additional missing persons.
