Harvey Weinstein Pleads Not Guilty to First Degree Sex Crime Charge in New York, Awaits Retrial
Sep 18, 2024, 08:25 PM
Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood producer, pleaded not guilty to a new sex crime charge in a New York courtroom on Wednesday. The new indictment charges Weinstein with a criminal sex act in the first degree, stemming from an alleged assault in a Manhattan hotel between April and May 2006. This arraignment comes nearly five months after his previous sex crimes conviction in New York was overturned. Weinstein was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month and is currently awaiting a retrial in his landmark #MeToo case, scheduled for November. His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, stated that they have 'absolutely no idea' who the accuser is.
