Sudanese President Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan survived an assassination attempt involving a drone strike on Wednesday morning, July 31. The attack targeted an army base in eastern Sudan during Al-Burhan's visit. Eyewitnesses reported that the strike occurred at a military graduation ceremony, resulting in the deaths of five people, including students and an officer. No group, including the Rapid Support Forces, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident took place at the Jbbit military base, approximately 100 kilometers from Port Sudan. Al-Burhan is also the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan.
