Himachal Pradesh Assembly in Shimla Adopts Resolution for Legal Cannabis Cultivation
Sep 6, 2024, 12:15 PM
The Himachal Pradesh Assembly has adopted a resolution for the legal cultivation of cannabis in the state. This policy, supported by the state government, aligns with the central government's stance on legalizing 'Bhang' farming for medicinal use. State Minister Jagat Singh Negi highlighted that the proposal was previously discussed under Rule 130 and had positive discussions in the Vidhan Sabha. A committee of MLAs was formed to examine the legal aspects and move forward with the licensing process. The discussions took place in Shimla, and the initiative was previously proposed during the government of Jairam Thakur.
