Josh Allen's Four TDs Lead Bills to 48-42 Win Over Lions in Season's Highest Scoring Game
Dec 15, 2024, 10:35 PM
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen led his team to a 48-42 victory over the Detroit Lions in Detroit, in the highest scoring game of the season. Allen passed for 362 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first player in NFL history with 35 or more passing and rushing touchdowns in four consecutive seasons. The Bills built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, with Allen scoring two rushing touchdowns. Running back James Cook added two rushing touchdowns, including a 6-yard run and a 41-yard run. Despite the Lions narrowing the margin to 21-14 at halftime—Allen had 254 passing yards at the half—the Bills extended their lead in the second half. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Allen. With this performance, Allen became the first player since at least 1948 to have back-to-back games with multiple passing and rushing touchdowns. The Bills improved their record to 11-3, while the Lions fell to 12-2.
