Bills Acquire WR Amari Cooper and 2025 Sixth-Round Pick from Browns in Exchange for Picks
Oct 15, 2024, 06:21 PM
The Buffalo Bills have acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns in a trade that bolsters their receiving corps for quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills receive Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick, while the Browns receive a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick. This marks the third time Cooper has been traded in his career, having previously moved from the Oakland Raiders to the Dallas Cowboys and then to the Browns. Cooper, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, was leading the Browns in receptions, yards, and receiving touchdowns this season, despite averaging a career-low 10.4 yards per reception on the NFL's worst offense. Over two-plus seasons with Cleveland, he accumulated 2,660 yards and 16 touchdowns. The Browns, currently with a 1-5 record, had acquired Cooper in 2022 for a fifth-round pick and now receive a third-round pick in return, improving their draft position. The addition of Cooper provides the Bills with a proven offensive weapon as they aim to strengthen their position in the AFC East.
