In Guntur, Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Criticizes YSRCP Over Temple Desecration and TTD Scams, 300 Temples Desecrated
Sep 22, 2024, 07:13 AM
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for alleged desecration of temples and adulteration of offerings at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Speaking in Guntur, Kalyan accused the YSRCP of altering the TTD board for political gain and establishing the Sri Venkateswara Trust, which he claims has led to various scams. He highlighted that worship protocols were changed and that 219 temples were destroyed during the YSRCP regime, while over 300 temples were desecrated. Kalyan has called for accountability, a white paper on TTD's actions, and emphasized the need for respect and protection for all religions. He also requested the Chief Minister to investigate the TTD board's actions and ensure proper oversight. Kalyan noted that prasadam distribution has been ongoing for more than 100 years.
