Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Begins 11-Day Penance Over Tirupati Laddu Adulteration Claims Involving Animal Fats
Sep 22, 2024, 06:18 AM
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has initiated an 11-day penance, known as 'Prayaschitta Diksha,' at the Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Guntur. This move comes in response to allegations of adulteration in the Tirumala's Laddu Prasadam, specifically claims of animal fats being used. Kalyan expressed deep personal hurt over what he described as malicious attempts to infuse impurity into the sacred prasad. He emphasized the repeated violations of the sanctity of the Lord and aims to seek forgiveness at the Tirupati Temple at the end of his penance. Ramana Deekshitulu, Ex Chief Priest, has also been involved in the controversy.
