VisitTEPCO Reports 25 Tons of Radioactive Water Leak at Fukushima Plant
Aug 14, 2024, 07:45 AM
Approximately 25 tons of radioactive water have leaked from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 2 reactor, according to reports from NHK and TEPCO. The water, intended for a tank receiving overflow from a spent nuclear fuel pool, has increased the level of contaminated water in the area. TEPCO has confirmed that the leaked water has not reached the external environment. In response to the leak, TEPCO plans to deploy robots this week to investigate the source of the leak.
