Stephen Curry Signs $62.6M Extension with Warriors, Becomes Highest-Paid Player
Aug 29, 2024, 04:33 PM
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has signed a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension, which will keep him with the team through the 2026-2027 NBA season. This extension makes Curry the first American team-sport professional athlete to earn over $60 million in a single season and keeps him the highest-paid player in the league. The deal was confirmed by Curry's agent, Jeff Austin of Octagon, and reported by ESPN. Due to the NBA's Over 38 rule, this one-year extension is the maximum the Warriors could offer. With this extension, Curry surpasses $500 million in career earnings, joining the ranks of LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
