Stellantis Recalls Over 211,000 Vehicles in U.S. Due to Software Malfunction and Airbag Risks
Jun 10, 2024, 12:00 PM
Stellantis, the American automotive giant, has announced a large-scale recall affecting over 211,000 SUVs and pickup trucks in the United States due to a software malfunction that could disable the vehicles' electronic stability control systems. This recall is part of a broader preventive measure that includes more than 200,000 vehicles over major stability concerns. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has identified the software issue that could impact the electronic stability control systems in two of Dodge's truck models and one of its popular SUVs. Despite earlier reports from Le Parisien on Wednesday suggesting an expansion of the recall, Stellantis has clarified that no additional recall actions are planned beyond what has already been announced. The recall also includes half a million cars due to airbag risks.
