Robert Sonza Released After Serving 11 Months in San Francisco Plea Deal
Aug 17, 2024, 07:00 AM
In San Francisco, a 27-year-old man named Robert Sonza has been released from jail after serving 11 months for multiple offenses, including car break-ins and domestic violence. Sonza was the first arrest in a bait car campaign and received a plea deal that resulted in his release. Despite his criminal record, which includes running from police, Judge Harry Jacobs approved a plea deal that sentenced him to two years in county jail for each of three burglary counts, to be served concurrently. With time already served and good behavior credits, Sonza was released. Sonza completed over 300 hours of programming while in custody. The decision has drawn criticism from District Attorney Brooke Jenkins and the victims of his crimes.
