Aran Brunson Charged for Developing Bomb-Making Skills After University of Chicago Dorm Explosion
Aug 30, 2024, 02:44 AM
Aran Brunson, a 21-year-old former student of the University of Chicago from Newton, Massachusetts, has been charged in federal court for allegedly engaging in a scheme to develop bomb-making skills. The charges follow an incident in January 2023 when an explosion occurred in his dorm room at the University of Chicago. Brunson is accused of concealing his efforts to make explosive devices, which he allegedly intended to use for militant actions in support of Armenian causes. Authorities also charge him with lying to federal agents after explosive alarms were triggered by his bags at Logan International Airport in Boston. Federal investigators announced the charges on Thursday.
