MSNBC President Rashida Jones Steps Down After 4 Years, Rebecca Kutler Named Interim Amid Comcast Spinoff
Jan 14, 2025, 02:26 PM
Rashida Jones, the president of MSNBC, has announced her departure from the network after a four-year tenure. She will be succeeded on an interim basis by Rebecca Kutler, who has been serving as the senior vice president of content strategy at MSNBC since joining from CNN in 2022. Jones's decision to step down comes just days before President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office. The transition at MSNBC coincides with Comcast's plan to spin off its cable TV networks into a new publicly traded company, which will include MSNBC among other channels. Jones, who joined MSNBC in February 2021, led the network through significant political events and oversaw the expansion of its digital and live event offerings. Kutler has been instrumental in driving growth across the network's digital, social, and audio platforms.
