Nvidia Launches $3,000 Project Digits AI Supercomputer with GB10 Chip, Up to 200 Billion Parameters
Jan 7, 2025, 07:48 AM
Nvidia Corp. unveiled Project Digits at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, introducing a compact personal AI supercomputer aimed at AI researchers, data scientists, and students. The device, powered by the new Nvidia GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, is designed to fit on a desk and can run AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. Project Digits, priced at $3,000, will be available starting in May through Nvidia and its partners. The supercomputer features 128GB of unified memory and up to 4TB of NVMe storage, and can be linked with another unit to handle models up to 405 billion parameters. It delivers up to 1 petaflop of AI performance at FP4 precision, runs on Linux-based Nvidia DGX OS, and was developed in collaboration with MediaTek. Users have access to Nvidia's AI software library, including the NVIDIA NeMo framework for fine-tuning models and NVIDIA RAPIDS libraries for accelerating data science workflows. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the device's role in democratizing AI development, stating it places an AI supercomputer within reach of every data scientist, AI researcher, and student, with the ability to scale models on NVIDIA DGX Cloud.
