OpenGradient Raises $8.5M to Decentralize AI Infrastructure with Backing from a16z Crypto, SV Angel

OpenGradient has secured $8.5 million in seed funding to build a decentralized platform for secure, open-source artificial intelligence (AI). The funding round was backed by leading investors including a16z crypto, CSX, Coinbase Ventures, SV Angel, Balaji Srinivasan, Ilya Polosukhin, and Sandeep Nailwal. OpenGradient aims to accelerate the development of open-source AI for Web3 by providing native on-chain inference support for decentralized applications and decentralizing AI infrastructure. The funds will be used to develop an end-to-end decentralized platform that emphasizes security and open-source principles in AI development.
