According to Downdetector, over 10,226 reports of OpenAI outages were registered in the United States as of 2:07 PM ET. OpenAI acknowledged the issue, stating that ChatGPT, APIs, and Sora, its video generation service, were experiencing high error rates due to a problem caused by an upstream provider.
