Explosion at Grozny's Lider Gas Station on Muhammad Ali Avenue Kills Four, Including Two Children
Oct 12, 2024, 01:37 PM
A powerful explosion occurred at the Lider gas station on Muhammad Ali Avenue in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, resulting in significant damage and casualties. The blast, which happened near a college and residential area, launched a fuel tank over 300 meters, crushing a parked car and injuring multiple people. At least four people, including two children aged 5 and 6, were killed, and several others were injured. The explosion is believed to have been caused by safety violations, as inspectors had previously cited the gas station for failing to meet basic safety standards with nine violations. The fire has since been extinguished by emergency workers.
