Judge Cannon Clears Release of Trump Election Report; Hearing on Volume Two Set for Jan. 17

In a ruling issued Monday, Judge Cannon denied a motion by Trump's former co-defendants seeking to block the release of Volume One of Smith's report, which focuses on the January 6 Capitol riot and alleged election interference. The judge set a hearing for January 17 in Fort Pierce, Florida, to decide on the potential release of Volume Two, concerning the classified documents case involving Trump. Attorney General Merrick Garland is expected to release Volume One of the report as early as Tuesday. The release of the report, which details the findings of Smith's investigation, could provide new insights into Trump's actions following the 2020 election.
