Trump's AG Nominee Pam Bondi Faces Senate Confirmation Hearing Today
Jan 15, 2025, 01:05 PM
Pam Bondi, a Florida native and former Florida Attorney General, is set to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee today, Wednesday, at 9:30 am for the first of two days of confirmation hearings as President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for U.S. Attorney General. Senators are expected to question Bondi on her extensive legal, political, and lobbying background, as well as her loyalty to Trump, given her previous role representing him during his first impeachment. Democrats are anticipated to grill her over the president-elect's comments about using the Justice Department against political opponents. More than 100 former Justice Department officials have urged the Senate to confirm Bondi as Attorney General.
