Ex-Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries, Partner Plead Not Guilty to Sex Trafficking, Prostitution Charges
Oct 25, 2024, 08:16 PM
Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries appeared in a New York federal court on Friday, pleading not guilty to one count of sex trafficking and fifteen counts of interstate prostitution. Prosecutors allege that from 2008 to 2015, Jeffries and his partner, Matthew Smith, orchestrated an international scheme that lured young men with promises of modeling opportunities for the clothing brand. The men were allegedly coerced into participating in drug-fueled sex parties involving force, fraud, and coercion. Fifteen individuals have come forward with accusations. Jeffries was released on a $10 million bond, secured by his home in Florida, and placed under home confinement with an ankle monitor. Abercrombie & Fitch has stated it will cooperate with law enforcement.
