Former Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries Arrested on 16 Sex Trafficking Charges
Oct 25, 2024, 09:40 AM
Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries has been arrested and charged with running an international sex trafficking and prostitution scheme. Jeffries, who led the company from 1992 to 2014, is accused of using his power and influence to coerce young men into participating in sex parties, promising them professional benefits. Federal prosecutors allege that Jeffries, along with two associates, leveraged his position at the apparel retailer to further the alleged crimes, including promising men modeling jobs. Abercrombie & Fitch has distanced itself from Jeffries, expressing that it is 'appalled and disgusted' by his alleged behavior and committed to cooperating with law enforcement. Jeffries has been released on a $10 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on October 25, 2024, in a New York court. He faces 16 criminal charges, including one count of sex trafficking and 15 counts of interstate prostitution.
