Eluru police in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district successfully busted a fake currency racket. The operation led to the arrest of Marumudi Madhusudanarao, Birelli Rambabu, and others. The police seized 94 bundles of fake currency and Rs. 47 lakhs. The case involved Dondapati Pani Kumar Bhaskara Rao, who was cheated of Rs. 3 lakh by fraudsters promising him Rs. 44 lakhs. The swift action by the police was commended by District SP Prathap Siva Kishore.
