Lamont Butler's Perfect 33 Points, Six Assists Propel Kentucky Past Louisville 93-85
Dec 15, 2024, 01:29 AM
Kentucky defeated Louisville 93-85 in a high-scoring rivalry game at Rupp Arena, improving to 10-1. Kentucky's Lamont Butler delivered a career-high 33 points, shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the field, 6-for-6 from three-point range, and adding six assists. Butler, who missed the last two games due to injury, became only the second SEC player in the last 20 years to score over 30 points while shooting 100% from the field. Despite Kentucky shooting nearly 70% in the first half and leading 46-40 at halftime, Louisville stayed competitive throughout the game. Louisville's Chucky Hepburn scored 26 points, and Terrence Edwards added 13 points in the first half. Louisville coach Pat Kelsey praised Butler as a 'stone-cold killer' and 'a winner.'
