Ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer Pleads Not Guilty to Vehicular Manslaughter in Pedestrian Death
Sep 26, 2024, 06:41 PM
Josh Klinghoffer, 44, former guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction, Iggy Pop, and Morrissey, has been arraigned in California on a charge of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence following a March 18 accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. Authorities say Klinghoffer was driving an SUV and making a left turn in Alhambra, California, east of Los Angeles, when he struck 47-year-old Israel Sanchez, who was walking in a crosswalk. Klinghoffer, who was previously sued for wrongful death and negligence in connection with the incident, pleaded not guilty through his lawyer during the arraignment on Thursday, as he did not appear in court personally.
