Jose Miranda Sets Twins Record with 10 Consecutive Hits, Altuve Injured
Jul 6, 2024, 02:47 AM
Jose Miranda of the Minnesota Twins has set a new franchise record by achieving hits in ten consecutive at-bats. This milestone surpasses the previous record of nine consecutive hits held by Tony Oliva, Mickey Hatcher, and Todd Walker. Miranda's streak began with a 5-for-5 performance, followed by a 2-for-2 showing, and culminated with his tenth hit. His remarkable performance is the first time a Twins player has reached this feat since Corey Dickerson did it in August 2022. Miranda's streak is the longest since Joe Mauer's eight straight hits in June 2006. His ninth hit was a run-scoring double that put the Twins up 4-3. Meanwhile, in another game, Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros was struck in the hand by a pitch and had to leave the game.
