The unemployment rate slightly increased to 3.9%, up from the previous 3.8%. The job additions for April were notably less than the 303,000 jobs reported in March, with revisions subtracting a net 22,000 jobs from February and March. Average hourly earnings grew by 0.2% month-over-month, which was below the expected 0.3% increase, and year-over-year earnings grew by 3.9%.
