ADP: U.S. Private Sector Adds 192,000 Jobs in April, Exceeding Expectations

In April, the U.S. private sector saw a significant increase in employment, with 192,000 jobs added, surpassing the expected 180,000, as reported by ADP. This growth included 145,000 service-providing jobs and 47,000 goods-producing jobs. Notably, the leisure and hospitality sector led with an increase of 56,000 jobs, followed by construction at 35,000, and both trade/transportation/utilities and education & health services each adding 26,000 jobs. Despite this growth, the information sector experienced a decline, losing 4,000 jobs. Additionally, annual wage gains were reported at 5%, marking the smallest increase in recent times, a slight step down from the upwardly revised 208,000 jobs in March.
