The International Tennis Integrity Agency initially suspended Sinner for 24 hours, during which his legal team provided an explanation that was quickly accepted, leading to the lifting of his suspension. The amount of clostebol found in Sinner's tests was less than a billionth of a gram, which was deemed negligible. The case has sparked discussions about the prevalence of clostebol in Italy and the perceived double standards in doping rulings, as highlighted by comparisons to Simona Halep's 18-month suspension. Sinner's coach, Darren Cahill, defended him, stating that Sinner was in an unfortunate situation and did not act with negligence or fault.
