DNC to Overhaul 2028 Primary Calendar After Crushing 2024 Defeats by Trump
Nov 15, 2024, 09:37 PM
Following significant defeats in the 2024 elections, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is planning a comprehensive review of the primary calendar for the 2028 elections. At least half a dozen DNC members, state chairs, and officials have voiced the need for a full reexamination of the order of states in the primary process. The current 2024 calendar will not be used for 2028, as confirmed by DNC members. However, there are concerns about potentially alienating Black voters in the process. The Democrats' decision comes in the wake of a crushing 2024 defeat and a landslide victory by Donald Trump, who made significant inroads in traditionally blue cities.
