Trudeau Says India Violated Canada's Sovereignty, Possibly Behind Hardeep Singh Nijjar's Killing
Oct 15, 2024, 01:28 AM
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accused the Indian government of making a 'fundamental error' by supporting criminal activities against Canadians on Canadian soil, including murder, extortion, and coercion. Trudeau alleges that India was possibly behind the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen and leader of the Khalistan Tiger Force, last year. The accusations have heightened diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, with both countries expelling each other's diplomats. Trudeau stated that India has fundamentally violated Canada's sovereignty and international law by targeting Canadians. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating the matter. Trudeau made these remarks during a press conference in Ottawa on Monday.
