HYDRAA Demolishes Nagarjuna's N-Convention Centre for Encroaching Water Bodies
Aug 24, 2024, 06:09 AM
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has undertaken a demolition drive targeting illegal constructions encroaching on water bodies in Telangana. As part of this initiative, HYDRAA demolished the N-Convention Centre in Madhapur, owned by Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, near Shilparamam in Rangareddy district. The demolition is part of a broader effort to address encroachments on protected zones, with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka noting that 491 out of 920 water bodies in and around Hyderabad have been encroached. The drive has sparked political controversy, with parties pointing fingers at rivals' properties located in protected areas.
