This group will integrate Microsoft's developer division, AI platform team, and several teams from the Office of the CTO, including AI Supercomputer, AI Agentic Runtimes, and Engineering Thrive. The initiative is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to advance its AI capabilities, aiming to build an end-to-end Copilot & AI stack, which includes expanding GitHub Copilot. CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the rapid evolution of AI technology, stating that 'thirty years of change is being compressed into three years.'
