Gerry Turner, the star of ABC's 'The Golden Bachelor,' has been diagnosed with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, an incurable form of blood cancer, weeks before his split from Theresa Nist. Turner, 73, revealed that the diagnosis had a 'huge bearing' on his decisions, including the end of his marriage. Despite the diagnosis, Theresa Nist clarified that the cancer was not the direct cause of their divorce, stating she was 'extremely upset' by the news but it did not influence her decision to end the relationship. Turner's diagnosis was shared in an exclusive interview with People, where he also mentioned that there is no cure for the condition.
