FEMA Supervisor Marn’i Washington Fired for Skipping Trump Homes After Hurricane Milton in Florida
Nov 9, 2024, 04:04 PM
A FEMA supervisor, identified as Marn’i Washington, instructed relief workers in Lake Placid, Florida, to avoid assisting homes displaying signs supporting former President Donald Trump in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Internal messages obtained by The Daily Wire and confirmed by FEMA reveal that Washington directed workers to "avoid homes advertising Trump" in a "best practices" memo. This directive led to at least 20 homes being skipped during disaster relief efforts following the Category 3 hurricane, which devastated parts of Florida in October and November. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell confirmed the incident on Saturday, stating that the agency was "deeply disturbed" by the actions. FEMA has since fired the employee involved and referred the matter to a special counsel for investigation.
