Nelson, who was the subject of many of Eminem's songs due to their turbulent relationship, had reconciled with her son in recent years. This reconciliation was reflected in Eminem's song 'Headlights.' Nelson had congratulated Eminem on his 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.
