Ahead of Maiden Voyage, Disney Treasure Rescues Four from Sinking Catamaran Off Bermuda
Nov 11, 2024, 03:00 PM
On Sunday, November 10, the brand-new Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Treasure, which is not yet officially in service, rescued four people from a sinking catamaran off the coast of Bermuda. The 50-foot catamaran, named Serenity, began taking on water approximately 265 miles off Bermuda when the U.S. Coast Guard received a distress call. The Disney Treasure, en route from Eemshaven, Netherlands, to Port Canaveral, Florida, was the nearest vessel and responded promptly. The crew launched a small rescue boat and successfully brought all four passengers aboard. The ship is scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral on Tuesday, November 12.
